Welcome to the Speaking Center
The Speaking Center is here to provide free coaching sessions and resources to APU students for a variety of speaking needs and purposes, including support in presentation writing and delivery. These coaches are trained by Marcia Berry, Ph. D., an APU speech communication professor, and coordinator.
Regardless of your level of confidence or public speaking expertise, meeting with an experienced speech coach will give you a fresh perspective on your presentation.
Whether it’s a five-minute speech, an hour group presentation, a student debate, a sermon, or any other speaking project, we’ll help you understand your assignment purpose and meet your speaking goals.
Meeting with a speaking coach can help guide your project planning, organization, revision, and more. If you’re having trouble getting started, we can help you generate ideas. If you want to give a mock presentation on a completed project, we are here for that too!
We look forward to working with you one-on-one, in groups, and in workshops!
Appointments may be scheduled in 30-minute allotments once a week. Click here to make an appointment.
